After the incident, Kazuki tried to send money to Yuzuko's younger sister, Karin Izumi, as a way to move on, but she consistently refused and returned the funds to him at Yadorigi café. Karin had been on her own for nearly five years since her sister's passing and was planning to pursue her dream of moving to France.
