BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense details of Kasumi's life character and personality

Kasumi

Kasumi wields a katana as her in-game weapon in New World Online and is a prominent character in BOFURI: I don't want to get hurt, so I'll max out my defense." In the first event of the game, she made it to the sixth rank in the top ten. However, during the second event, she had a challenging encounter with Maple and Sally, but they eventually became friends after being chained together in a dungeon. At Maple's request, Kasumi joined the newly-formed Maple Tree guild.

Kasumi Appearance

Kasumi possesses striking dark eyes and flowing black hair with trim tips, fashioned in a Hime cut style. She stands tall, exceeding the typical Japanese height standard and surpassing all the female members of Maple Tree, except Chrome. Her avatar has an eastern appearance, resembling a samurai, in contrast to the western or medieval fantasy theme of most avatars. Her attire, which looks like hakama, is actually a skirt designed with two openings for unrestricted movement of her legs. Despite her mature and curvy figure, she conceals her ample bosom with her kimono. Kasumi appears to be one of the elder members of Maple Tree. Kasumi's preference for gear and attire reflects her fondness for traditional Japanese motifs.

Kasumi Plot

During the second event, Kasumi encounters Maple and Sally as adversaries after recognizing that one of them possesses a gold medal. However, before their confrontation can conclude, Maple inadvertently triggers the conditions for them to be transported into a hidden dungeon together, where they are forced to form a truce to survive. As they navigate the dungeon toward the exit, they become fast friends and even acquire three medals in the anime adaptation, unlike the web novel, where only Maple discovers one. After exiting the dungeon, they part ways but add each other to their friend lists.

Later on, Kasumi reunites with Sally in a cave on the sixth day and waits for Maple's skills to reset. Once Maple rejoins them, she summons Hydra to barricade the entrance and ensure their safety for the remainder of the day, spending their time having fun together.

Kasumi's Personality

Kasumi exudes a composed and collected demeanor while maintaining a friendly and approachable disposition. She, along with Chrome and Iz, assumes the role of a caretaker or elder sister, shielding their fellow guild members from harm. Kasumi possesses impressive social skills and excels in communication, traits that she exhibits both in-game and in real life. Her personal preferences and hobbies are evident in her game avatar, where she favors Eastern-themed equipment and enjoys green tea, a renowned beverage in Asia. Additionally, she has a penchant for Japanese-oriented items. When the situation demands it, Kasumi demonstrates her cautious, astute, and competitive sides. Her usual amicable and genial personality is more evident outside of battles, and even more so after being welcomed into the Maple Tree guild.

Kasumi's History

On the 4th layer of the game, Kasumi indulges in a spending spree, reveling in the layer's traditional Japanese ambiance. She spends all of her hard-earned funds on various antiques that she fills her room with. This spending binge eventually leads her to acquire the powerful Self-Devouring Bewitched Sword, Yukari.

As a skilled and dedicated player, Kasumi is the first to reach the maximum level of the entry permit, reaching level 9 with the wooden tag obtained during the 4th event.

In her search for a suitable monster companion, Kasumi ventures to the 4th layer and carefully observes any changes that may indicate the presence of a potential companion. She meets a frog-like character in a tavern who mentions a rare monster in the Fog Valley of a Faraway Land. Intrigued, Kasumi embarks on a quest to find the monster. Along the way, she battles and defeats small demons on the 4th layer, obtains a purple-white feather from birds with cloud-like wings on the 5th layer, and triumphs over a powerful boss-rank undead creature, the headless knight, on the 6th layer. Once she returns to the frog-person, she receives a map on a slip of paper, leading her closer to her goal of finding the perfect monster companion.

The map directed her to a valley on the 7th layer that she had previously explored. Just as she was about to give up, she closed her eyes and looked down, only to find herself in the Fog Valley of a Faraway Land. She couldn't move after seeing a giant white snake with glowing red eyes. She determined that the giant snake can only be dealt damage once and that being in its line of sight prevents movement after some troubleshooting and revisiting the frog-person.

Because she was unable to defeat the giant snake, she decided to search the area and discovered a snake nest. She discovered that even entering the snake nest was difficult with her new skill, Mind's Eye. She attacked the colossal white snake between its eyes and shot herself into the snake nest with some of Iz's bombs. She arrived at a hot spring with a little white snake deeper inside. The hot spring gushed and gave her a Bridge of Bonds ring after climbing her body. She later gave him the name Haku.

BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense Kasumi's Swords Skills

Heat Haze is the first of the Swords.
This skill presumably distorts an enemy's vision of Kasumi and temporarily increases her speed.
Lonely Moon Kgetsu (bright white moon) is the third of the Swords.

This skill is renamed Third Tachi: Arc Moon in the anime.

A powerful downward slash tears the ground apart from the inside out. It has a significant knockback. As a result, both parties' equipment is severely damaged. However, the enemy's equipment is more severely damaged than the user's.
The aspect The effect of this skill is conspicuouslVajra). Ity is absent from the anime adaptation.  Adamantine is the tenth of the swords (alt. Vajra)  Reduces the user's AGI and DEX, increasing their resistance to abnormal statuses, and reducing damage.
Oborozuki (Hazy Moon) is the final sword.
increases user stats by unleashing twelve ferocious high-speed attacks in succession.

This skill is not used by Kasumi against Shin as a last resort against his Sword of Destruction in the anime adaptation.

Hollow (Utsuro, empty space) The user's hair fades to white and the color of their eyes changes to scarlet. In exchange, they receive great power for a limited time while greatly reducing the durability of their equipment.
The reduced durability drawback of this skill is not present in the anime adaptation, implying that Kasumi's armor is still intact, contrary to what happened in the web novel.

This skill is renamed Beginning Tachi: Void in the anime.
Purple Bewitched Sword (Murasaki Gento, Violet Phantom Sword)
The user will be wearing bandaged armor, and using it will transform the user into a small child for about 10 minutes.
